Montford Cottage stands detached on the rocks at Montford, a hamlet 3 miles south of the main town of Rothesay.

When disembarking from the ferry at Rothesay, turn left along the coast road for approximately 3 miles, heading in the direction of Mount Stuart House, the seat of the Marquess of Bute.

As you come into Montford, you will see the cottage is the only house on the sea side of the road. Parking is on the opposite side of the road running in front of the house.

Although the entrance to the cottage is from the road, both house and garden are seaward facing.
